Description
The beauty of jewelry making is that there are so many techniques that can be used to get to a finished product. For this unique ring, the design was hand-carved out of wax and cast in bronze with the sand casting technique. Sand casting is a process that uses a mold made from wax to create a negative impression in a special sand that then becomes the mold for the molten metal. This mold is then filled with a molten metal, leaving a seamless finished design.
This ring is all about the “gems”… The shapes in bronze are reimagined as uniquely shaped gems encompassing the exterior of the ring and with a focal tapered “gem” as the centerpiece. Textures and shapes cover the exterior, each mark and groove emphasized by a dark patina. The inside has been finished to a smooth polish, the interior edges rounded for comfort.
Approximately 6mm wide by 3mm thick bronze ring, hand carved and cast, size 4.
